Insider trading … obstruction of justice … money laundering. These were the charges Garrett Bauer was facing in one of the largest, longest-running insider trading schemes ever prosecuted. He pled guilty but before beginning his sentence, he is coming to NYSSA to share his experiences firsthand. His is a cautionary tale of what not to do. In a completely candid presentation, Bauer will explain what happened and what can be learned from his mistakes. Join us for a rare opportunity to ask him questions about lessons learned.

Biography

Garrett Bauer graduated from Clark University with a bachelor’s degree in economics. In 1989, Bauer started his professional career at the State Street Bank in Boston as a portfolio accountant. In his next position, he was a trader for 14 years with the Royal Bank of Canada, and in 2009 Bauer continued his trading experience while briefly working at Lighthouse Financial.
