Financial Statement Analysis

Saturday November 5, 2011 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
NYSSA Conference Center
Available as: Live Session;
Categories: CFA Level I Preparation

Financial statement analysis represents the largest weighting on the CFA® Level I exam, and is typically the most difficult area of the test for most candidates. Candidates are expected to understand not only how to construct financial statements but how to interpret and analytically adjust them for financial analysis (for both US GAAP and IFRS).

In this course, you will review:

  • Construction of cash flow statements, income statements, and balance sheets
  • Capital and operating leases (and other off-balance-sheet liabilities)
  • Deferred income tax assets and liabilities
  • Accounting for long-term projects, impairment and goodwill
  • Basic and diluted earnings per share
  • Inventory valuation methods and revenue recognition
  • Depreciation and amortization
  • Calculation and integrated analysis of financial ratios

Note: Bring a financial calculator (approved by CFA Institute) that you plan to use for the CFA exam.
