Excel Fundamentals for the Finance Professional

Before you can crunch data and efficiently build models, you need to master the basics in Excel. Focusing on the fundamental building blocks of Excel will prepare you to utilize more advanced techniques. Learn how to create calculations in cells, format files and worksheets, and link between tabs and worksheets. You will also learn relevant financial formulas and proper navigation. Review functions and tools including mathematical, financial, logic, date/time formulas, data manipulation, anchoring, data tables, and building a capstone model. Emphasis will be on using shortcut keys, simplifying steps, and manipulating data. Leave with techniques that will allow you to work faster, with less effort and more accuracy. This workshop is perfect if you need to fill in the self-taught knowledge gaps, learned Excel some time ago, need to update your skills, or work in a support capacity.

Note: Bring your PC laptop with Microsoft Excel installed and a CD-ROM drive, Mac applications may not be as effective. This technical workshop does not focus on building financial models or valuation, but rather on mastering core and essential Excel skills for Wall Street.
