COURSE
DESCRIPTION

A skilled, top-notch financial analyst must be able to efficiently perform detailed data analysis. Acquire the advanced Excel tools that will streamline your process and conduct more in-depth analysis. Learn more efficient ways to apply commonly-used formulas; discover often over-looked Excel formulas; analyze data using functions such as pivot tables, vlook-up, subtotals, and regression analysis; maximize Excel functions with arrays and complex SUMIF construction; enhance your spreadsheets with drop boxes, data validation, and automated alternate row shading; and more! Leave the class able to leverage the advanced features of Microsoft Excel for improved analysis and increased efficiency.

Note: Bring your laptop to class (with Microsoft Excel installed and a CD-ROM drive). PC laptops recommended.

Prerequisite: This technical workshop does not focus on building financial models or valuation, but rather on sophisticated number crunching. Intermediate proficiency using Excel is required. NYSSA’s “Excel Fundamentals for the Finance Professional” and “Corporate Valuation Methodologies” are recommended.

Note: To maximize the educational value of this program, it is strongly recommended that you have a basic understanding of Excel and are familiar with its functions and features. Lack of basic Excel skills will impede your ability to effectively acquire and implement the techniques and shortcuts that are presented in this program. If you have any questions, or for further information, please contact the Education Department at education@nyssa.org.

Level: Advanced
