COURSE
DESCRIPTION

Before you can crunch data and efficiently build models, you need to master the basics in Excel. Focus on the fundamental building blocks of Excel, which will prepare you to utilize more advanced techniques, leveraging Excel’s spectrum of features. Learn relevant financial formulas, proper navigation, formatting of files and worksheets, creating calculations in cells, and linking between tabs (worksheets). Review functions and tools including mathematical, financial, logic, date/time formulas; data manipulation; anchoring; data tables; and building a capstone model. Emphasis will be on using shortcut keys, simplifying steps, and manipulating data. Leave with techniques that you can use immediately, allowing you to work faster and with less effort. This workshop is perfect if you are self-taught in Excel, learned Excel some time ago, need to update your skills, or work in a support capacity.

Note: This technical workshop does not focus on building financial models or valuation, but rather on mastering core and essential Excel skills for Wall Street.

Note: Bring your PC laptop with Microsoft Excel installed and a CD-ROM drive. (Excel 2007, Vista, and Macs may not be as effective.)

Prerequisites: Some proficiency in Excel is required.

Level: Basic
