COURSE
DESCRIPTION

Bring your laptop with Microsoft Excel to class, because this course provides a practical, hands-on approach to the quantitative and technical aspects of financial modeling using Excel. Learn how to model and project a top-down financial statement for valuation purposes or for analyzing mergers and acquisitions. You will receive a 10k (Annual Report) and a list of advanced Excel shortcuts. You will input publicly available information and learn various shortcuts to construct a five-year income statement projection and discounted cash flow analysis. Leave the classroom with a model that you can apply to other companies immediately.

Bring your laptop to class (with Excel installed and a CD ROM drive) to get the most out of this “hands-on” course. PC laptops recommended. Familiarity with Excel is the only prerequisite.

Note: To maximize the educational value of this program, it is strongly recommended that you have a basic understanding of Excel and are familiar with its functions and features. Lack of basic Excel skills will impede your ability to effectively acquire and implement the techniques and shortcuts that are presented in this program. If you have any questions, or for further information, please call the Education Department at 212.541.4530 x 42.

Level: Intermediate
