Excel Fundamentals for the Finance Professional
Before you can crunch data and efficiently build models, you need to
master the basics in Excel. Focus on the fundamental building blocks of
Excel, which will prepare you to utilize more advanced techniques,
leveraging Excel’s spectrum of features. Learn relevant financial
formulas, proper navigation, formatting of files and worksheets,
creating calculations in cells, and linking between tabs (worksheets).
Review functions and tools including mathematical, financial, logic,
date/time formulas; data manipulation; anchoring; data tables; and
building a capstone model. Emphasis will be on using shortcut keys,
simplifying steps, and manipulating data. Leave with techniques that you
can use immediately, allowing you to work faster and with less effort
and more accuracy. This workshop is perfect if you need to fill in
self-taught knowledge gaps, learned Excel some time ago, need to update
your skills, or work in a support capacity.
Prerequisite: Some proficiency in Excel is
required.
Note: Bring your PC laptop with Microsoft Excel
installed and a CD-ROM drive. Mac applications may not be as
effective.
