Industry Conference
13th Annual Water Utility Conference
Water stocks retreated in 2008, but have rebounded somewhat this
year, even surpassing the broader market. The Janney Global Water Index
of 60 global water stocks declined almost 63% during 2008, but finished
the second quarter of 2009 up 20.32%, compared to the S&P
500’s gain of 13.35%. 51 of the 60 companies in the index
experienced gains.
The issues driving the sector have not changed. The world’s
urgent need for clean, safe water continues. According to the U.S.
EPA, the country’s deteriorating water infrastructure requires an
investment of $500 billion over the next 20 years. The U.S. stimulus
package approved this year included approximately $12 billion in water
funding and this money is just starting to impact the market this
fall.
Additionally, a key driver behind current investment in the $8
billion water utilities industry is its consistent dividend payments,
which are now 3.6% on average.
What does the future have in store for the water utilities industry?
Do not miss this chance to meet industry insiders, including the CEOs,
CFOs and other VIPs from the country’s leading water utility
companies at this popular investment conference.
