NYSSA’s Career Development Committee
presents
Career Chat: Perspectives on a Tumultuous Year from Wall Street
Vets
The year 2009 will go down in financial market
history as one of the most tumultuous and will likely be compared with
1987, 1973, 1937 and 1929.
Where do we go from here and what are the prospects for Wall Street
employment?
This Career Chat will feature a panel of Wall Street veterans who are
well versed in financial markets history and can put recent events into
perspective. Topics will include:
-
Are we starting a new economic recovery and
bull market, or will the economy double dip? Was the 2009 rally just a
bear market correction?
-
How does 2008–2009 compare with other
financial crises?
-
What has changed permanently and what remains
the same? Will there be another bubble in the future or will the reforms
being implemented stabilize the markets permanently?
-
What are the prospects for job seekers in
2010? How do unemployed professionals get back in the game? How do young
people looking for their first Wall Street job break into the business
in this environment?
