NYSSA Announces Final Four in 8th Annual Challenge

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA) announced today the four finalist teams for its 8th Annual Investment Research Challenge.

Student teams from Cornell University’s Johnson School; Fordham University’s College of Business Administration; Rutgers Business School-Newark and New Brunswick; and Stony Brook University will present their research to a panel of senior Wall Street executives on February 25.

The Investment Research Challenge is a six-month educational initiative in which leading industry professionals teach business and finance students best practices in researching and reporting on a publicly traded company.

The Gold Sponsor, EDGAR Online is supplying students with access to its award winning I-Metrix product, a suite of interactive XBRL data applications and analytical tools that facilitate research. Thomson Reuters is also a Gold Sponsor and host for the Panel Presentations on February 25, and Credit Suisse is a Silver Sponsor.

The field of sixteen top area business schools was narrowed down to the “Final Four” on the basis of written reports and presentations on subject company, Bitstream (NASDAQ: BITS). Bitstream is a software development company focused on bringing unique software products to a wide variety of markets. The company’s core software products include award-winning fonts and font rendering software, mobile browsing software, and variable data publishing and web-to-print software for personalized marketing.

The four teams will each have 20 minutes to convince the panel of the merits of the investment recommendations found in their written reports.

The winner of the NYSSA IRC will compete in CFA Institute’s Global Investment Research Challenge on April 17, 2010 in Hong Kong.

To reach the finals, these four teams bested students from the Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College of CUNY; Columbia Business School; the Charles F. Dolan School of Business, Fairfield University; the Frank G. Zarb School of Business, Hofstra University; the Hagan School of Business, Iona College; the Stern School of Business, New York University; the Lubin School of Business, Pace University; the Stillman School of Business, Seton Hall University; the Peter J.
